How to start reading Herotodus –
We had a good call this week to go over “how to read Herodotus.”
We discussed:
– how to read the maps (and I instructed folks on how to number the map pages for easy reference during the reading; I also pointed out where key places are)
– the “structural outline” in the appendix (make sure to take a look at it)
– some of the first stories about the Lydians, Persians etc in Book 1
